Cask No. 133.6

The rich and emphatic nose expressed immediate notes of eucalyptus oils, smoked mint, heavy aromas of camphor and lanolin. There were a lot of dried herbs, chimney soot, salted liquorice, seaweed, burning driftwood and heavy medicinal tones. Reduction brought out smoked cereals, hot mustard oil, roof pitch, smouldering fir wood and natural tar extracts. The palate was rather immense, full of thick, tarry phenolics, black pepper, charred brisket and rich, intense peat smoke. Adding water delivered a lovely spicy note of rye bread, along with thick floral peat smoke, root beer syrup, aniseed sweets and soy sauce.
