The region of Brittany in northwest France and the Highlands of Scotland have more in common historically than you might imagine. Building upon this connection in the modern day, the inaugural bottling of Distillery 157 is a multifaceted single malt whisky inspired by Scotch and the unrelenting spirit of the Celtic Sea! 

Distillery 157 has been distilling spirits since 1900 but only started focusing on single malts in the late 1980’s. Experimentation over the next 15 years led them to a distillery overhaul and technical guidance from the late great Dr. Jim Swan. By 2012, their style and vision matched their ambition to craft Breton single malt inspired by the Highlands. Today’s Cask No. 157.1 Roasty, toasty and oaky was aged all 8 years in a 1st fill Oloroso butt. The distillery’s style of fruit-forward malt possessing weight and oily texture bodes well for maturation in this type of highly active sherry-seasoned cask. The result is a decadent malt exuding aromas and flavours of root beer, molasses, baking spices and chocolate-covered raisins. Your Breton whisky adventure awaits!
