The imprint is obvious – a nose that wafts elegant wood fragrances, Szechwan peppercorns and cashews, chocolate cake, sweet chilli sauce and balsamic glaze on watermelon. The palate bursts with treacle toffee and banoffie pie, sultanas, dates, rum and raisin and Christmas stollen; star anise and wood resins to finish. The reduced nose combines PX sherry, Armagnac and Muscat with fruit cake, crema Catalana, almond cake, apricot jam and orange blossom.
