The palate, however, was a much heavier affair. Earthy rhubarb, burnt toffee and nutmeg moved towards barbecued prawns with liquorice and tar suggesting sticky medicinal cough mixture. Undeterred by a healthy dose of water, lemon and apple juice combined with salty sea air and marshmallows toasted on a beach bonfire.
