The palate overwhelmed us with hickory smoked hotdogs, salty wood, Twiglets, hessian sacks, squid ink pasta and perfumed peat reek. The reduced nose evoked mountain bothies – wound straw firelighters and waterproofs and leather boots drying by the fire.
