On the palate we experienced true old school Highland hospitality - rough and ragged edges of honest simplicity but warm and welcoming. After the addition of water brown sugar, cinnamon and orange zest came to the fore with notes of Calvados, Jägermeister and young Armagnac soon following. Sweet and savoury to taste with a silky texture like in cinnamon porridge with caramelised oranges.
