Rich, fruity and earthy, the palate gave us wonderful and unusual flavours of dark cherries, marrons glacés, chilli-glazed apricots, treacle scones and mochachino.  Unexpectedly, it took plenty of water, still flaunting its nose of maple candies, crème brûlée and walnut whips, Oddfellows and bonfire embers.
