We then noticed gooseberry tarts with vanilla custard and rice pudding dusted with cinnamon before we encountered the sticky temptation of an apricot Danish. Herbal notes brought a background of complexity with liquorice and aniseed whilst the undiluted palate delivered a wakeup call from raw chillies. A few drops of water released nutty dimensions as hazelnuts and almonds joined roasted chestnuts with a drizzle of maple syrup.
