On the palate, it is frisky as a kitten – tarte au citron, acid drops, spiced fruit punch and a finish of wood shavings, cracked black pepper and ginger. The reduced nose has the enticing sweetness of a banquet of butterscotch, toffee and caramel latte, trailing a suspicion of sharpness (lemonade, pink grapefruit). The palate became more mellow – tropical fruits, cinnamon ‘lucky tatties’, acidic Moffat Toffees* and a dry pepper finish.
