The palate, full-flavoured, feisty and frisky, had a splendid sweet and smoky synthesis, with hints of citrus and shellfish, Pontefract cakes, tobacco snuff and euthymol. The reduced nose picked up dry, burnt straw notes (like The Wicker Man clear-up).
