Either way it was an interesting island holiday snapshot. The palate was quite a sensation – lively but lovely and balanced – honeyed porridge and blancmange sweetness with lots of perfumed floral smoke. The pointless debate continued with water – the picnickers taking langoustines from a basket and the beach guys pouring lavender water on driftwood embers.
