The palate was \u003cstrong\u003etasty, warming and complex\u003c\/strong\u003e – caramel wafer, muscovado, walnut cake and \u003cstrong\u003edark chocolate soufflé\u003c\/strong\u003e against charcuterie, woody tannins and \u003cstrong\u003eburnt paper\u003c\/strong\u003e. The reduced nose gave one panellist a ‘\u003cstrong\u003eboozy chocolate fondue\u003c\/strong\u003e’ (dipping sponge fingers, bananas and grapes); another got a celery stick \u003cstrong\u003ebloody Mary\u003c\/strong\u003e on a lady’s \u003cstrong\u003edressing table\u003c\/strong\u003e.
