Sweet phenols in the mouth moved between charred heather, charcoal and burnt pine nuts coated with honey while scorched lemon peel sat on singed toast with cinnamon. With water we were back with the dried seaweed at the harbour side but now with barbecued brambles, red liquorice and coconut ice cream dusted with chimney soot.
