The lively, ‘jazzy’ palate had citric flavours, \u003cstrong\u003etarte tatin\u003c\/strong\u003e and blackcurrant throat sweets – we also found \u003cstrong\u003emaple syrup on pancakes\u003c\/strong\u003e, treacle toffee, malt loaf, \u003cstrong\u003eroasted chestnuts\u003c\/strong\u003e and carbolic. The reduced nose suggested peat smoke drifting over beaches – plus cough syrup and ash, raisins, \u003cstrong\u003epineapple and foamy bananas\u003c\/strong\u003e. The palate represented a joust between \u003cstrong\u003eherbal\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003efloral smoke\u003c\/strong\u003e and Dutch \u003cstrong\u003ecaramel waffle biscuits\u003c\/strong\u003e and dark brown sugar, with \u003cstrong\u003eflinty dryness\u003c\/strong\u003e on the finish.
