The reduced nose was rather \u003cstrong\u003emasculine\u003c\/strong\u003e – rock-pools, matchboxes, \u003cstrong\u003edamp woolly jumpers on radiators\u003c\/strong\u003e and dried penguin in Shackleton’s hut.
