The palate was mouth-warming, viscous and sweet – rhubarb rock, fruit salad chews, jelly babies, Empire biscuits and Turkish Delight, with sweet ginger and lebkuchen. The reduced nose – sweetly perfumed, like sherbet straws, exotic flowers, orange and lemon slices and candied angelica on an iced cake.
