First nosing revealed an \u003cstrong\u003eold\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cstrong\u003eartist’s studio\u003c\/strong\u003e with old easels and the smell of thick \u003cstrong\u003ecanvas\u003c\/strong\u003e and linseed and \u003cstrong\u003esandalwood oil\u003c\/strong\u003e. The blinds had been pulled shut to direct a single beam of sunlight through the darkness, illuminating a still life with stark contrasts. It intensified the \u003cstrong\u003evibrant\u003c\/strong\u003e colours of the \u003cstrong\u003eoranges\u003c\/strong\u003e, prunes and \u003cstrong\u003edried apricots\u003c\/strong\u003e that had been carefully positioned beside a dusty bottle of \u003cstrong\u003etawny port\u003c\/strong\u003e and a glass of \u003cstrong\u003esweet Tokaji\u003c\/strong\u003e wine. The palate was also \u003cstrong\u003edark\u003c\/strong\u003e yet sweet with \u003cstrong\u003echocolate covered brazil nuts\u003c\/strong\u003e, macadamia nuts, \u003cstrong\u003efigs\u003c\/strong\u003e, prunes and \u003cstrong\u003eold leather\u003c\/strong\u003e. Then \u003cstrong\u003emuscovado sugar\u003c\/strong\u003e, all spice and a finish of rye whisky with dark, \u003cstrong\u003estrong coffee\u003c\/strong\u003e.
