Green and juicy, we also detected wee hints of nutmeg, cut green apple and chlorophyll. With water the nose became waxier and spicier, with notes of pollen, white pepper and herbal toothpaste. The palate was initially rich, with inklings of linens, sunflower oil, sweet coconut biscuits, macaroon and a wee sprig of lemon thyme. On the palate a big tingle of ginger spice quickly sweetened into damson jam, lime marmalade and vanilla cheesecake served with toasted marshmallows dipped in cocoa powder. A few drops of water unveiled softer fruits of baked orange, plums and tinned fruit salad while marmalade on rye bread deepened to dark chocolate and molasses. As the sun dipped further, streaks of colour radiated across the heavens. The cream cakes burst into shades of clementine, kumquat and stewed rhubarb. Adding a few drops of water unveiled a new wave of juicy quince but now alongside hibiscus petals, dried mango and loose tea leaves in an old cigar box.
