Bourbon lovers go crazy for a ‘barrel pick’ and that’s literally all we do. Every cask we release is a barrel picked by our Tasting Panel and have they picked a dandy for you today! Bourbon enthusiasts who have been with the Society for a few years might be familiar with whiskey coming out of Little Rock, Arkansas. We’ve been spoiled by several decadent expressions from this distillery, and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cb data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eCask No. B3.9 Shooting pool at a BBQ\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003e takes our excitement to a whole new level! This bourbon derives its hedonistic expression from a heavily corn-driven recipe (over 80%!), adding in rye and malted barley for complexity. Perfect-for-Fall flavours of toffee apples, pumpkin pie, maple and cloves lead the way on the nose and palate for a rich and rewarding taste experience. The palate was sweet and woody – pecan pie, dandelion and burdock, caramelized pear with clove, vanilla wafers, biting a pool cue and a razor strop while holding maple candies in both cheeks. The reduced nose became more aromatic – jasmine tea, honeysuckle and orange muscat; plus, shoe-shine stands, liquorice, molasses and plastic beach balls. The palate was lightly medicinal (honey menthol Tunes), with Jolly Ranchers, brown sugar, butterscotch and gingerbread.
